Aas is a Chartered Certified Accountant and is a fellow member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Ballarat, Australia and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK.

Aas has worked in Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) for over 4 years as the Director of Investigation & Intelligence Department where he led and supervised complex tax audits and investigations. Aas has also worked in Maldives Customs Service as Chief Customs Officer where he was the Deputy Head of the Post Clearance Audit Section. From November 2018 Aas has worked in the Presidential Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery, as one of the five members appointed by the President, before he resigned in February 2020 to join QVL.
